Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews respond to a bicycle rider who was hit by a vehicle on March 2, 2022, in the 2200 block of West Sixth Street.

Lawrence police are investigating after a bicycle rider was hit by a vehicle Wednesday.

Around 4:20 p.m., emergency crews responded to the 2200 block of West Sixth Street to a report of a bicycle rider being struck by a vehicle. Emergency personnel were on the scene within two minutes of the accident, said Battalion Chief Rob Fleeup with Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries Fleeup said.
