Sheriff’s office searching for Baldwin City man who allegedly led high-speed car chase through Lawrence

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who it says recently fled from law enforcement and caused a high-speed car chase in Lawrence.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that Tyrone “Ty” Leroy Alexander, 48, of Baldwin City, fled from deputies during a traffic stop on Dec. 29, which resulted in a vehicle pursuit through Lawrence. Alexander is being sought on suspicion of felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement, aggravated assault and felony interference with law enforcement.

Alexander originally had warrants out for his arrest in Douglas County for alleged probation violations, the sheriff’s office said.
