A Lawrence man was taken to an Emporia hospital Friday after suffering a suspected serious injury in a car wreck in Lyon County.

The man, Cornelius Tsosie, 47, was traveling southbound in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer on Kansas Highway 130 near milepost 4 around 7:15 p.m. when his vehicle left the road on the right side and struck a culvert, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, who said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Tsosie, who was alone in the car, was taken to Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
