A Lawrence woman is facing charges in Douglas County District Court of lewd fondling of a 4-year-old.

The woman, Ashlyn Marie Sloan, 29, is charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child in connection with two incidents in July and December of 2021, according to a charging document in the case.

The victim is listed as being 4 years old at the time, which makes the charge an off-grid person felony, the most severe kind.

The document lists over 30 witnesses related to the case, including hospital records.

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies booked Sloan into the jail around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the jail booking log. She was released on a $100,000 bond about an hour later.

Sloan has a court appearance scheduled for May 10, according to court records.
