Pedestrian injured after being struck by vehicle on KU’s campus

A female pedestrian was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle on the University of Kansas campus on Friday.

Deputy Chief James Druen said KU Police were dispatched around 2:10 p.m. to an injury accident on Engel Road, which is where several residence halls are located. He said the incident included a car striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was seriously injured in the incident and transported to a Topeka hospital by ambulance, he said.

Additional details were not immediately available. As of Friday afternoon, the cause of the wreck is still under investigation, Druen said.
