Marion Jinkens, Tina Jinkens' mother, tells Bryce Stude "I love you" as she hugs him after he received a Lifesaving Valor Award for saving her daughter.

A Eudora man was killed Friday in a one-vehicle accident in Stanton County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs, the accident occurred at 11:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 160 about 17 miles east of the Colorado border.

The report states that Bryce L. Stude, 28, of Eudora, was eastbound on U.S. 160 when he overcorrected his 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe after it drifted off the roadway to the north. The vehicle then rolled an undetermined number of times before coming to rest north of the highway. Stude was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

In 2019, Stude, then 26, was honored for his role in saving the life of Tina Jinkens in an accident in Eudora. Jinkens, who is blind, was struck by a semi truck as she was walking, and Stude, who witnessed the accident, got the truck to stop and pulled Jinkens out from under it. His action earned him a Lifesaving Valor Award from the City of Eudora Fire and EMS Department.
