Crews fight fire at home near Lone Star Lake

Fire crews responded to a structure fire at a home near Lone Star Lake midday Thursday.
According to emergency radio traffic, a garage at a home near the 600 block of East 715 Road had caught fire. However, heavy smoke later could be seen billowing from the home located just northeast of the lake and appeared to be coming from the roof.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that there were no reported injuries and the animals of the home were evacuated safely.
The sheriff’s office said the cause of the fire was still under investigation but it did not appear to be suspicious.
