2 injured in multivehicle wreck on 23rd Street
A four-vehicle wreck in central Lawrence on Wednesday left two people injured and a major road closed for several hours.
Lawrence police responded to the wreck that occurred near the 1700 block of West 23rd Street around 5:30 p.m., Sgt. Drew Fennelly said in an email to the Journal-World. Two of the drivers were transported to the hospital for serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries, he said.
After the wreck, police closed West 23rd Street between Ousdahl Road and Iowa Street until about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
What led to the wreck is not yet clear. Kim Murphree of LPD said Thursday morning that the wreck was still under investigation.
