Lawrence fire crews responded to a fire Wednesday in northern Lawrence that left a mobile home extensively damaged.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded around 10:30 a.m. to a report of a fire in a mobile home park at 110 Michigan St., the department said. When firefighters arrived, heavy flames could be seen coming from the roof and exterior of the home.

The firefighters were able to contain the fire to the mobile home.

Homeowner Audiey McTaggart, who was on scene Wednesday afternoon, told the Journal-World she woke up to the home ablaze and immediately called 911. She said the home was severely damaged, noting broken windows and a charred interior.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The department said no one was injured, but McTaggart, another adult and two children have been displaced because of the fire.
