The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a criminal investigation after a rural car crash resulted in two injuries on Wednesday.

Lt. Rich Qualls told the Journal-World on Thursday that deputies responded to a report of a collision around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the 800 block of North 1800 Road, which is northwest of Lawrence. He said two individuals were injured in the wreck and the criminal investigation is ongoing.

Qualls did not say how many vehicles were involved or what led to the wreck. As of Thursday afternoon, he has not responded to the Journal-World’s follow-up questions.
