Two minors have been arrested after an overnight fire in North Lawrence, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical said in a news release Tuesday.

Fire crews responded to a reported fire at 242 Perry St. around 11 p.m. Monday, the department said. When firefighters arrived, they were informed that the fire in the home was already put out, and they confirmed it had been extinguished.

No one was injured as a result of the fire. However, the firefighters determined the cause of the fire was “incendiary,” meaning someone deliberately set it.

After an investigation with the Lawrence Police Department, the two juveniles were arrested, the department said.

Additional information about the two minors was not immediately available. Their arrests are not listed in the Douglas County booking log because they are juveniles. Lt. David Ernst of LPD said the officers are filing an affidavit with the District Attorney’s office, but declined to provide any further information.
