A motorcycle driver was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday north of Lawrence.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wreck on U.S. Highway 24/40 around 7 p.m. and briefly closed the highway between East 1500 and East 1600 roads, the department said in a social media post.
The wreck involved the motorcycle and an unknown SUV, which left the scene heading east toward Leavenworth County, the department said. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital by LifeStar.
Lt. Rich Qualls told the Journal-World Thursday that the wreck was still under investigation and declined to provide any further information.
