Two people injured in crash on Vermont Street in Lawrence, police say

Two people were injured in a crash Thursday morning on Vermont Street, according to Lawrence police.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Vermont Street around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Lawrence Police Department spokesperson Patrick Compton said via email. The officers determined that the driver of a Toyota Camry had rear-ended a disabled Nissan on the side of the road, Compton said.

The driver of the Camry and a passenger in the Nissan were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Compton said. The driver of the Camry was given a citation for alleged inattentive driving, he said.
