Lawrence police are investigating a possible stabbing that occurred early Friday.

Patrick Compton, a spokesman for the Lawrence Police Department, said police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1500 block of West 22nd Terrace shortly after midnight, where they found a woman who had been stabbed with an unknown object.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, Compton said. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
