Two passengers were injured in a single-vehicle wreck in eastern Lawrence on Tuesday.

Lt. David Ernst of the Lawrence Police Department said officers responded to a report of a wreck near the intersection of Haskell Avenue and East 21st Street around 5:45 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle traveling southbound on Haskell Avenue veered off the east side of the road and struck a bus shelter. The two passengers were removed from the vehicle and were taken to area hospitals for injuries that were not considered to be life threatening.

As of Wednesday morning, the wreck was still under investigation, Ernst said.
