Lawrence police identify pedestrian who was killed crossing the street

The Lawrence Police Department on Monday identified a pedestrian who was killed Friday evening as Lawrence resident Emily Lepley, 60.

Around 8:40 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 1400 block of West 19th St. in response to reports that a pedestrian had been struck while crossing the street. Despite life-saving measures by police, Lepley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the police.

Police provide no further details Monday, and the incident remains under investigation.
