Leavenworth woman killed Friday in 3-vehicle accident north of Eudora

A Leavenworth woman was killed and a Lawrence man was injured in a three-vehicle accident Friday in southern Leavenworth County.

According to an online crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred about 9:50 a.m. on Leavenworth County Road 1, about 3 miles north of Eudora. According to the online report, Karley Renee Housworth, 18, of Leavenworth, was southbound on the road when the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving struck the rear of a 2017 GMC pickup driven by Craig Anthony Bracken, 43, of Basehor. The Highway Patrol report says Housworth then overcorrected her vehicle and drifted into the northbound lane, where she collided head-on with a 2012 Dodge Ram driven by Tracy R. Rogers, 62, of Lawrence.

Housworth was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Rogers was transported to LMH Health for treatment of a possible injury. Bracken was not injured. All three drivers were wearing seat belts.
