Someone reportedly stole an estimated $1,400 worth of lawn equipment from a garage at the University of Kansas chancellor’s residence Thursday, according to Deputy Chief James Anguiano of the KU Public Safety Office.
The equipment, including a weed trimmer and leaf blower belonging to KU Facilities Services, was taken from a detached garage to the rear of the home sometime between 4 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, Anguano said.
The equipment was recovered Friday, and the theft is still under investigation. The report about the incident didn’t indicate there had been any damage to property, Anguiano said.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning. Anguiano asked that anyone with information that could lead to an arrest call KU police at 785-864-5900.
