Police investigating after shots fired at Lawrence house overnight

Lawrence police are investigating after a fight at a gathering escalated into gunfire overnight.

Officers responded to a report of numerous shots fired at a house in the 1300 block of Tennessee Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Lawrence Police Department spokesperson Patrick Compton said.

Police found people with minor injuries from a fight that witnesses said preceded the gunfire, but officers did not encounter any gunshot victims, Compton said.

No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of 10 a.m. Saturday.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Lawrence Police Department at 785-832-7509.
