Lawrence police investigate reported bank robbery, share photos of alleged suspect

The Lawrence Police Department tweeted out these images of a man officers believe to be involved in a bank robbery on Jan. 31, 2020.

Lawrence police responded to a reported bank robbery Friday afternoon and later released images of the alleged suspect via social media.

Officers were called around 3:30 p.m. to Landmark National Bank, 2710 Iowa St., LPD spokeswoman Kim Murphree said via email Friday. She said that no injuries had been reported at that time.

Emergency radio traffic indicated that officers had set up a perimeter to try to catch the suspect in the area surrounding the bank.

However, around 6:30 p.m. Friday, the department tweeted photos of the man that officers believe to be responsible for the robbery.

The department requested that any members of the public who recognize the man call 785-830-7430 or submit an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers by calling 785-843-TIPS (8477).
