A 16-year-old was reportedly injured in a strong-arm robbery Saturday night in Lawrence.
Lawrence police were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. Saturday to Burcham Park, 200 Indiana St., Sgt. Amy Rhoads said via email Monday.
The alleged victim told police that three known subjects — two teens and one adult — had attacked and stolen an item, Rhoads said. She did not specify what the item was.
The alleged victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, Rhoads said.
As of Monday morning, two of the suspects had been arrested, and the incident was still under investigation, Rhoads said.
On Monday afternoon, a 19-year-old Lawrence woman was charged in Douglas County District Court with aggravated robbery and aggravated battery, both felonies, in connection with the incident. The woman had been arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday at the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, according to the Douglas County Jail booking log.
At her first appearance in court Monday, the woman’s bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety. If she makes bond, she is not to have contact with the alleged victim or her co-defendants in the case. As of Monday evening, she remained in custody at the jail. Her next court appearance is set for Thursday.
One of the minors has a detention hearing in the juvenile division scheduled for Wednesday, online court records indicate.
