A Lawrence man is facing charges of aggravated criminal sodomy against two children, court records show.

Bryon Brouhard, 21, was arrested at the same address listed as his home on a probable cause warrant just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, Douglas County Jail records indicate.

The charging document accuses Brouhard of aggravated criminal sodomy against two children who were ages 6 and 7 on Aug. 9, 2019, when the incident was reported to Lawrence police.

Brouhard was set to appear in court Thursday to be formally charged, according to court records.

The charges are off-grid felonies, meaning that a conviction would be punishable by a life sentence.

Jail records indicate that a judge modified Brouhard’s bond from $200,000 to $100,000 cash or surety Thursday afternoon. Should he make bond, he must have pretrial release supervision, according to jail records.

As of Thursday evening, Brouhard remained in custody, and his next court appearance is set for Jan. 27.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday declined to release Brouhard’s booking photo to the Journal-World.
