Leavenworth woman rear-ends semi on I-70; no serious injuries, Kansas Highway Patrol reports

A Leavenworth woman driving eastbound on Interstate 70 rear-ended a semitruck Thursday morning but no one suffered serious injuries, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.

Troopers responded to the accident, which occurred near the McDonald Drive interchange in Lawrence, around 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the report.

Margaret Lewis, 22, was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer when she struck the rear end of a semi driven by Calvin Ward, 33, of Houston, according to the report. Ward suffered no injuries; Lewis said she was in some pain following the accident, but she was not transported to a hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
