A Lawrence man was arrested Thursday and charged with rape Friday, according to jail and court records.
Dominic Christopher Bartholomew, 25, was arrested on a probable cause warrant at the eastern Lawrence address listed as his home at 8:07 p.m. Thursday, the Douglas County Jail booking log indicates.
The charges against him allege that between Nov. 2 and 3, Bartholomew raped a 26-year-old victim who was unconscious or physically powerless, or, in the alternative, while the alleged victim was overcome by fear. The charge is a high-severity level-1 felony.
The charging document indicates that the arrest stems from an incident investigated by the Eudora Police Department.
As of Friday afternoon, Bartholomew was being held on $10,000 cash or surety bond, according to the booking log. Should he make bond, he is to have no contact with any alleged victim or witness, online court records indicate. He is also not to return to a Eudora address.
Bartholomew’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 7.
