Woman killed in crash south of Lone Star Lake; 3 others injured, infant unharmed
A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash south of Lone Star Lake Thursday night, according to a crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Two of the woman’s passengers suffered suspected minor injuries, and an infant was uninjured. In the second vehicle, a male driver suffered suspected serious injuries, according to the report.
Sara N. Shamblin, 25, of Scranton, was reportedly driving a Nissan Rogue southbound on East 550 Road around 9:22 p.m. Thursday. She ran a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 56 Highway and tried to swerve to avoid the Jeep Grand Cherokee heading westbound on U.S. 56 and driven by Timothy W. Cambron, 36, of Scranton, according to the KHP report.
Shamblin’s vehicle reportedly struck Cambron’s passenger side, which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway to the left and roll onto its roof, according to the report; Shamblin’s Nissan Rogue spun around and rolled into a ditch, landing on its roof.
Dakota L. Comstock, 19, and Autumn Comstock, 17, both of Scranton, suffered suspected minor injuries, according to the report. Seven-week-old Morgan Comstock was restrained in an infant seat and was not injured, the report says. Cambron had no passengers. All were taken to area hospitals, according to the report.
It was not clear whether anyone involved besides the infant was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
