A 46-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of child sex crimes Monday in Lawrence, according to the Douglas County Jail booking log.

The 46-year-old man was arrested at 4:20 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Haskell Avenue, but his address is in the Jayhawk Mobile Home Court in the 1400 block of East 15th Street, near the East Lawrence Recreation Center, the booking log shows.

The man was arrested on a probable cause warrant for two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, the booking log indicates. He was also arrested on suspicion of interference with law enforcement.

The 18-year-old was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Monday at his home in the 1500 block of Lindenwood Lane, also on a probable cause warrant, the booking log indicates. He is suspected of aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14, according to the booking log.

As of Monday evening, both men were being held on $25,000 cash or surety bonds, jail records show; the 46-year-old had an additional $1,000 cash or surety bond for the alleged interference with law enforcement.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence Police Department did not immediately respond Monday to an email inquiring as to whether the two arrests were related.
