Lawrence police were called to a local hospital around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday regarding a “possible shooting,” according to Sgt. Amy Rhoads, public affairs officer.

A male victim told police he was inside his vehicle at a parking lot in the 2400 block of Louisiana Street when an unknown man approached, raised a firearm and fired, Rhoads said via email.

She said the victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

The investigation is active and ongoing, Rhoads said.
