Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to offer free self-defense class for women

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will host a free women’s self-defense class at the fairgrounds on Wednesday.

The class will aim to teach physical defensive tactics, tools and suggestions for personal safety and programs designed to help during an emergency.

The event will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Building 21 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St. No registration is required. Participants should wear tennis shoes.
