KU police investigating report of man being punched, threatened with gun on campus

University of Kansas police are investigating a report of a man hitting, pointing a gun at and threatening a person on the KU campus last week.

KU police received a report of an aggravated assault and battery that occurred sometime Friday or Saturday, according to a KU crime alert issued Wednesday afternoon. According to the report, an unknown suspect threatened the victim and pointed a gun at him while in lot 400 near 15th and Iowa streets. The suspect also punched the victim during a physical altercation, according to KU police. The victim was not a KU student and was able to get away and leave the area, police said.

Police described the suspect as a white male with black hair wearing a T-shirt and blue pants. They ask that anyone with information about the incident call Crime Stoppers at 785-864-8888 or the KU Public Safety Office at 785-864-5900.
