The Lawrence Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a shooting that didn’t injure anyone but sent people running on June 25.

Around 11 that evening at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of West 24th Street, multiple callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing people run into a nearby residence, Sgt. Amy Rhoads told the Journal-World the following day.

A 24-year-old Lawrence man was arrested at his home Wednesday on suspicion of five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal threat, according to Douglas County Jail booking logs.

Patrick Compton, a department spokesman, said the investigation is ongoing. The case has been forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney to consider charges.

First appearances in Douglas County District Court — along with all other court proceedings — were canceled Thursday afternoon because of a bomb threat.

The man was being held without bond Thursday evening, according to the booking log.
