Lawrence police are investigating a burglary reported at an East Lawrence plant store.

Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, employees at Jungle House Goods, 924 Delaware St., discovered that the door to the business was not secure and an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise was missing, LPD spokesman Patrick Compton said via email.

The shop, which opened in November 2018, carries a wide selection of plants, including some large and rare varieties, as well as grow lights, locally made pottery and other plant accessories, the Journal-World has previously reported.

“We are asking our plant community to come together and help us locate cuttings and plants being sold online or otherwise,” the store owners wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday. The post includes several photos of plants that were reportedly taken.

The incident was still under investigation Wednesday afternoon, Compton said.
