‘Possibly intentional’ head-on wreck injures 3 in Lawrence
Three people were injured in an apparent head-on collision Tuesday in southern Lawrence, according to police.
The wreck may have been intentional, Patrick Compton, a spokesman for the department, said via email Wednesday.
He said officers were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 2500 block of West 31st Street, where they found two vehicles.
“After obtaining initial statements, officers determined that the wreck was possibly intentional and stemmed from an argument between two occupants inside one of the vehicles,” Compton wrote.
The driver of the first vehicle was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, Compton said, and the passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, Compton said.
The investigation is ongoing, and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident, Compton said.
