KU campus hosts annual tipi raising in honor of Indigenous People’s Day

The University of Kansas on Wednesday hosted its annual raising of a tipi in celebration of Indigenous People’s Day.

The holiday was Monday, but KU had been on fall break until Wednesday.

The event was on the lawn of Strong Hall Lawn and was led by 2025-2026 Miss Haskell, Angelina Giago, along with KU First Nations Student Association students and others.
