A Monday public presentation by a candidate for the open dean position at KU’s School of Pharmacy has been postponed.
A University of Kansas spokeswoman said a public presentation by David Dietz, a professor and department chair at the University at Buffalo, won’t take place on Monday as previously reported.
Dietz’s entire visit to the KU campus has been postponed, the spokeswoman said. KU’s announcement about the postponement didn’t provide additional details about when the the event may be rescheduled.
KU plans to interview four finalists for the dean position. Theresa Shireman, a health care researcher at Brown University, has already been announced as a finalist. KU expects to host the final two finalists on Feb. 27 and March 6. Names of the finalists are scheduled to be released just prior to their visits to campus.
The dean position is open after past pharmacy dean Ron Ragan resigned in May. Ragan stepped down from the leadership position to return to his appointment as a tenured professor within KU’s School of Pharmacy.
