A New York Times technology columnist will be in Lawrence next month to discuss artificial intelligence and how it likely will impact the ethical practices of businesses.

Kevin Roose, who writes the technology column “The Shift” for the Times, will be the latest speaker in an annual ethics lecture series at the University of Kansas School of Business. Roose will deliver his address, “Business Ethics in the Age of AI,” at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Dicus Family Auditorium at the KU business school on the Lawrence campus.

In addition to his column, Roose also is the host of two podcasts, “Hard Fork” and “Rabbit Hole,” and has multiple books focusing on topics that include surviving technology changes and profiles of Wall Street junior bankers after the 2008 financial crisis.

Roose will speak as part of the Sutton Ethics Lecture Series, which regularly brings in speakers to discuss a multitude of ethical issues facing today’s business leaders.

The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. Registration can be completed online at https://tinyurl.com/5xju3tht.
