Online special education degree at KU ranked No. 1 nationally in new report; online MBA finishes in top 10

An online master’s degree in special education from KU is the best in the country, and KU’s online MBA program is in the top 10, according to new rankings released this week.

KU’s Master’s in Special Education Programs took the No. 1 spot in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Program rankings. In the highly competitive online master’s of business administration category, KU had the ninth best online program overall, and the seventh best among public schools.

KU officials touted that is the second year in a row that the MBA program has received a top 10 ranking.

“This type of recognition underscores our commitment to delivering a premier, accessible graduate management education,” Jide Wintoki, associate dean of graduate programs at the School of Business, said of the online MBA, which has been offered since 2015.

Indiana University had the top-ranked online program in the country, according to the report.

Several other online programs were ranked by U.S. News & World Report. They include:

• No. 6 ranking for online programs for veterans.

• No. 13 ranking for master’s in education programs for veterans.

• No. 16 ranking for master’s in curriculum and instruction programs.

• No. 35 in online master’s in education programs.

KU’s online engineering master’s degree ranked in the tier of No. 84 to 109, according to the report.
