Dole Institute to unveil new exhibit, host special ceremony to mark one-year anniversary of Bob Dole’s death

The Dole Institute of Politics will host a special ceremony and unveil a new exhibit on Monday to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole.

The institute will have a come-and-go ceremony filled with music and opportunities for reflection from noon to 4 p.m. on Monday at the institute’s West Campus facility, 2350 Petefish Drive.

Visitors also will be able to see a newly renovated, permanent exhibition case that examines Dole’s life and service to the country.

Dole represented Kansas in the U.S. Senate from 1969 to 1996 and was the Republican leader of the Senate for 11 years, including three years as majority leader. He also was the Republican nominee for president in 1996.
