The University of Kansas is planning a special lighting display this evening, the 20th anniversary of 9/11, to honor the thousands slain in the 2001 terrorists attacks on the United States.
The lighting display will be at the KU Memorial Campanile. In conjunction with that, University Carillonneur Elizabeth Egbert Berghout will perform a special selection of music at 8:30 p.m.
The Dole Institute, which houses two beams from the World Trade Center, is also hosting an exhibit, “September 11, 2001: The Day that Changed the World,” in its Simons Media room, featuring a poster exhibition reviewing the events of the day and highlighting personal experiences. The exhibit will run through Sept. 19.
