Expert in hiring college graduates to speak to Lawrence businesses, KU

An expert in trends related to hiring college students and how much graduates are earning in the workforce will be speaking to a Lawrence audience later this month.

The University Career Center at KU is partnering with the Lawrence chamber of commerce and the Economic Development Corporation of Lawrence & Douglas County to host a free, virtual event related to college graduate recruiting trends.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 16 and will feature Phil Gardner, the executive director of the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State. Gardner is expected to speak about hiring trends among recent graduates, trends by sector and location, salaries for entry-level hires and other factors that impact the ability of companies to hire recent graduates.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. People wanting to register for the event can get more information by reaching out to Elise Patrick at KU’s Office of Career and Experiential Learning at epatrick@ku.edu.
