Three KU graduates win Fulbright awards to study overseas
A trio of KU graduates have been selected for Fulbright U.S. Student Awards as international exchange programs begin to re-emerge following disruptions caused by the global health pandemic.
Samuel Buse, a 2021 graduate of the KU School of Music from La Mesa, Calif., will study historic organs at a music institute in Seville, Spain.
Gabrielle Doue, Omaha, Neb., will teach English in Colombia as part of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship.
Isabel Keleti, a 2017 KU graduate from Leawood with a degree in piano performance, will spend nine months in the Czech Republic studying the works of various Czech piano composers.
The Fulbright awards are generally considered some of the more competitive academic awards in the country. With the three new awardees, KU has now had 484 students win the award since the program’s inception in 1946.
