Lied Center’s next season to feature Buddy Guy, Boz Scaggs, Melissa Etheridge and more

Cast from the family-friendly production of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show," which is part of the line up for the Lied Center of Kansas 2019-2020 season. The show featuring "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, " will be 6 p.m., Nov. 22, 2019.

Grammy award-winning musicians Bruce Hornsby, Buddy Guy and Boz Scaggs are part of the lineup for the Lied Center’s next season.

“This season promises to be diverse and entertaining. From a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer to a New York Times best-selling author, and MacArthur Fellows to Tony Award-winning Broadway productions, we truly have something for everyone,” Derek Kwan, executive director of the Lied Center, said in a news release.

National-touring Broadway productions including “Rent,” “The Color Purple” and “Jersey Boys,” are also part of the lineup. Plus, the Lied will also have a family production of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers will kick off the season at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Hornsby will be followed by Boz Scaggs at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10.

The season includes a wide variety of performances and genres, including best-selling author and humorist David Sedaris, singer Melissa Etheridge and a Russian National Ballet production of “Don Quixote.”

Friends of the Lied are currently able to purchase tickets for the 2019-20 season. All individual show tickets go on sale to the general public at 8 a.m. June 10.
