Former Nike, Lego, Starbucks ‘creative-in-chief’ to lecture Thursday night at KU

A branding expert will lecture at the University of Kansas Thursday night at 6 p.m.

Stanley Hainsworth led the creative teams at Nike, Lego and most recently, Starbucks, before founding his own creative design and advertising agency, Tether, in 2008.

He led a complete visual redesign for the Lego Company, created Nike Entertainment and was Starbucks’ vice president of global creative in the age when Starbucks became a cultural icon.

Hainsworth is the author of a book called “Idea-ology” and is a regular contributor to the HuffPost. As the current chief creative officer at Tether, Hainsworth leads his offices in Seattle and New York to create “brand visions for visionary brands.”

His lecture is free and open to the public and will take place in 110 Budig Hall. It is the last lecture in KU’s School of Architecture and Design’s Hallmark Symposium Lecture Series.
