The public is invited to an event exploring common challenges families face and ways to strengthen family support and well-being in the community.

The Community Children’s Center and the University of Kansas Center for Public Partnerships and Research will be hosting a community conversation on Tuesday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Children’s Center, 346 Maine St. Attendees will explore stories and local data from Kansas families. They will discuss the common challenges families face today, patterns and shared experiences and generate ideas to strengthen family and community well-being.

Adults who live and work in Lawrence and Douglas County are especially encouraged to attend. Attendees will have the chance to share perspectives to shape solutions that will support families and lead future efforts.

The event is free and open to the public and lunch will be provided. Childcare will not be provided, but children may attend with their caregiver if needed. Space for the event is limited, and people interested in attending can register for the event at https://shorturl.at/hIEhy.

People who have questions about the event can contact Kelsey Dugan at dugan_kelsey@ku.edu.
