Theatre Lawrence Lawrence will kick off its 2026-27 season with a Gilbert and Sullivan-inspired musical.

Theatre Lawrence’s next season will kick off in September with a jazzy reimagining of a Gilbert and Sullivan classic.

The 2026-27 lineup will start with “Pirates! The Penzance Musical” followed in December by the holiday show — typically a big musical on the order of 2025’s “White Christmas” — which won’t be announced until May 25.

Then comes “On Golden Pond” at the end of January 2027; “Conscience” in March — a play about Sen. Margaret Chase Smith’s opposition to Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s anti-Communist crusade; “The 39 Steps” in April — an Alfred Hitchcock-inspired comedy; and “Come From Away” in June — a musical inspired by the true story of what happened when 38 planes were diverted to Newfoundland on 9/11.

Theatre Lawrence will also have two bonus shows: “Lizzie: A Killer Rock Musical” in October and “The Light in the Piazza,” a musical in concert, in February 2027.

The theater is currently on the tail-end of its 2025-26 season. The Hitchcockian “Dial M for Murder” is scheduled for April, and “The Addams Family” musical is slated to wrap things up in June.
