A new mural painted by Van Go youth artists for J. Lynn Bridal is set to be unveiled to the public later this month.
The mural, titled “Interconnected,” was a fall project for Van Go’s 14- to 24-year-old artists, and was painted on site at the downtown bridal shop over the course of two months, according to a press release from Van Go. The artists worked alongside the business to develop the mural’s concept and themes of marriage, unity and resilience.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, at the store, 731 Massachusetts St. The event is free and open to the public.
This isn’t the first mural that Van Go artists have done for a downtown business client. Last year, for instance, Van Go installed a mural for engineering consulting firm GPW & Associates at 1001 New Hampshire St. The release said these projects are an integral part of Van Go’s programming and help youth build connections with businesses and leaders in the community.
