Haskell Indian Art Market to return in October, with Native art, food and performances

Native American artists from around the country will gather in Lawrence next month to sell jewelry, pottery and other handcrafted items.
The annual Haskell Indian Art Market will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 at the powwow grounds on the Haskell Indian Nations University campus, 2535 West Perimeter Road.
Jewelry, paintings, pottery, sculptures and other items will be available for purchase. The market will also feature traditional food vendors and performers. Performances will occur daily at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on each of the event days.
