Expect overnight ramp closures at pair of Lawrence turnpike interchanges due to repaving work

Motorists on the Kansas Turnpike should expect ramp closures and other construction work near Lawrence in the coming days.
Construction crews will conduct evening and overnight closings of ramps at both the East Lawrence and West Lawrence interchanges as part of repaving work during the next week, the Kansas Turnpike Authority has announced.
Ramps aren’t scheduled to be closed during the day, but rather from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., according to a notice from the KTA.
The schedule of ramp closings for the East Lawrence interchange, which leads into North Lawrence and is at mile marker 204, is:
• Wednesday: Westbound entry ramp closed.
• Thursday: Westbound exit ramp closed.
• Sunday: Eastbound exit and entry ramps closed. Westbound ramps, however, will be open.
• Monday, Sept. 22: Eastbound exit ramp closed.
The schedule of ramp closings for the West Lawrence interchange, which leads into McDonald Drive and is at mile marker 202, is
• Tuesday, Sept. 23: Westbound entry and exit ramps closed.
• Wednesday, Sept. 24: Westbound exit and eastbound entry ramps closed.
• Thursday, Sept. 25: Eastbound exit and entry ramps closed.
