St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish will host its 28th annual Oktoberfest on Sept 28.

The event, from 4 to 10 p.m. at 1234 Kentucky St., will feature homemade German food, premium German beers and live German music.

The St. John Oktoberfest is always the last full weekend in September. This year Squeeze Play will play live music under the big tent. Menu items will include bratwursts, schnitzel, bierocks, cabbage rolls, German potato salad and sauerkraut. Pretzels, desserts, apple cider, coffee and soda will also be available, as well as a variety of beers.
