Volunteers needed to help with LINK’s free Thanksgiving Dinner

Organizers of LINK’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner are seeking volunteers to help with the community meal on Nov. 28.

The meal, free and open to all, will be served at 1 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church at 10th and Kentucky streets. Meals will also be delivered on that day.

Volunteers will be needed as follows:

• Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. to receive donated food at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6001 Bob Billings Parkway, and begin assembling meals for home delivery.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi to pack home-delivered meals and clean up the prep area.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, at 11:15 a.m. at Corpus Christi to deliver meals.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. to set up, serve and clean up the meal at the LINK meal site.

Volunteers will not be able to drop in on Thanksgiving Day.

Requests for home-delivered meals must be made through a social service provider or a congregate living location such as Babcock Place, Clinton Place, Vermont Towers, Prairie Ridge, Peterson Acres, Bethel Estates and Wyndham Place, according to organizers.
