The Douglas County Commission will handle a light agenda at its weekly meeting on Wednesday.
There were no items listed on the meeting’s regular agenda as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, nor a work session slated to take place ahead of the group’s business meeting late Wednesday afternoon.
Instead, commissioners are only set to issue a proclamation recognizing Douglas County’s Juneteenth celebration on June 15 and to consider approving a list of eight items on the meeting’s consent agenda, reserved for items that are generally considered routine that can be approved by one vote from commissioners without any discussion.
The consent agenda for Wednesday’s meeting includes a grant funding application for the county’s Criminal Justice Services department to cover the cost of obtaining and providing mental health and substance use assessments and treatment and a contract for engineering services with JEO Consulting Group Inc. for a bridge replacement project at North 1800 Road over Baldwin Creek in Wakarusa Township.
The County Commission’s business meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Douglas County Public Works training room at 3755 E. 25th St. The meeting will also be available via Zoom.
